How to Publish and Receive Stereo Audio
Publishing Stereo
Stereo audio can be published to Phenix using:
- RTMP with the mpegts-unicast-ingest capability
- MPEG-TS or source-uri into the Phenix Encoder. The configuration file for the content must include the argument '--audio-channel-layout=stereo'
RTMP
When contributing stereo audio using RTMP or SRT, use the mpegs-unicast-ingest
capability
to preserve the stereo channels. Without using this capability, a single track will be played for
both channels.
The audio and video must be in formats that are supported by mpegts-unicast-ingest
, e.g., 48 kHz sample rate.
See details for SRT and RTMP.
Optionally, the high-fidelity
can be used to provide a higher bitrate to enhance overall audio quality.
Phenix Encoder
If you are using the Phenix Encoder to publish content with stereo audio, please contact your Phenix technical representative for assistance.
Receiving Stereo
Stereo is offered in the SDP negotiation with all browsers, so stereo will be available if the client's browser supports stereo. Stereo is also available in the mobile SDKs (Android and iOS).
